There are many ways to obtain copies of your MRIs to send us.
- If you ask your medical imaging center before the test, you might be able to obtain both the films and the files on a CD-ROM. If they can do that, this is the easiest method.
- If you just have the films, you can get them copied to a CD-ROM by a photographic lab. They do a very good job, but it is expensive.
- To do it yourself, at no cost, try taping them to a window and make a snapshot with a digital camera. Disable the automatic flash. Put the camera as close as possible to the film and hold it stable, with a tripod if you have one. Cameras with a resolution of at least 4 megabytes give best results.
- You can also take photos with a standard, non-digital, camera, and have them printed out to A4 size. Then you can scan the photo on a flat-bed scanner to produce a file.
- You can also try scanning the film itself on a flat-bed scanner. This sometimes produces out of focus files, but we will enhance them if we can.
The format of the image files you send us will probably be either .GIF or .JPG. We will normally be able to read them, whatever the format.
Once you have the files, if you would like to add your photos to the gallery, please send them to Philip.
